Success of solar panel installation at Kidderminster
Kidderminster's long-awaited solar panel project is now complete, paving the way for future sustainable energy efforts. This successful installation marks a crucial shift from relying on the national grid to producing renewable energy locally through solar panels.
The project's success highlights a careful mix of financial sense and environmental care. It was made possible by the dedication of many stakeholders, whose teamwork and persistence were crucial. Shane Williams, Site manager for Kidderminster says:
"Persistence was keyand we worked with strong support colleagues here and our finance team, which helped us build a solid business case to engage the right people."
The community will benefit financially by selling excess solar energy back to the national grid, which is expected to positively impact Kidderminster's finances in the long term.
In the future, the initiative aims for complete independence from fossil fuels, envisioning a future where all UK-distributed products come from a net-zero warehouse. This goal is part of Colart's broader commitment to sustainability.
This solar initiative marks a notable advancement in Kidderminster’s path to sustainability, setting an example for other communities looking to follow a similar green path and we are extremely proud about both this achievement and the ongoing efforts for environmental change.
Ajita Chamberlin, Group Sustainability manager, quoting the company's manifesto says:
"We are committed to being a force for good in the world. This solar panel project is a positive step in our journey to net zero."
