Jake Kersey 10 years in Colart

In Jake’s own words :

“10 years and it feels only like yesterday that I was the new guy sharing a car with Harsa as she took me to the summer management conference on my first day.  I was struck by the diversity and energy of the people then and, whilst some of the people have come and gone, I still believe that this is one of our strengths as a business and I am happy to have made many friends along the way. My old boss said when I left my previous role that a move to a smaller company would come with positives and negatives. He said you will have the opportunity to make a difference and see your efforts deliver change, but the lack of the processes that you find in a big company may lead to some challenges. He was quite right and as I look back, I am pleased and proud of what we as a business have achieved, but I admit it can be challenging when some things that on the surface just “happened” needed that bit of extra effort to get done.

 

I feel lucky to have been able to build my career and responsibilities over time, from my original role as International Sales Director to take on the Nordics, become General Manager International and China and now with my broader remit of Europe.  Each addition has allowed me the opportunity to learn more, see more and grow my personal and professional experience. What I have learnt is that, if you are prepared to be open to what and where the business can take you, are prepared to seek out new opportunities and have a “can do” attitude, then you can achieve really satisfying results.

As I now prepare to move my family back to the UK from France another chapter in my exciting career and life at Colart opens and I look forward to continuing to build the European business and strategy to deliver our goals for Perform 2030”.

  11. Massive congratulations on your ten years with Colart Jake. You’ve had such an interesting journey (and not just in the car with Harsa on your first day). The energy and enthusiasm that you bring to everything is so inspiring. The family photo is lovely, and I hope their moving back means we’ll be seeing more of you in the London Hub soon!
