Go-Live Announcement โ Next-Generation BI Architecture with Microsoft Fabric Wednesday, 22nd October
Dear Business Analysis users,
We are pleased to announce the successful migration of our BI infrastructure to Microsoft Fabric.
This major milestone was made possible thanks to the outstanding leadership of Sushmitha, who managed both the project delivery and the collaboration with our partner Transparity.
We would also like to acknowledge Amelia and Erchen for their active contribution throughout all project phases, from prototype creation and testing to the final deployment in Production. Their ability to swiftly adopt a new platform has enabled us to provide Colart BI users with a modern and scalable solution.
What is changing for BI users
-
The Power BI interface remains unchanged, and all existing certified reports connecting to Analysis Services have been migrated on a like-for-like basis.
-
A single action will be required to continue using your Excel reports previously connected to the old BI data source. A video tutorial with full guidance will be shared thru this link. You will receive a separate email on Wednesday with technical details. This update must be completed by the end of October, when the legacy system will be switched off. After that date, Excel reports will no longer refresh automatically. Still, you can reconnect reports with low usage afterwards if needed.
Behind the scenes, a new data lake has been implemented to enable cross-reporting across multiple Colart data sources. In addition, AI-powered features will be activated at a later stage to support users in creating new reports with enhanced analytical capabilities.
Next steps
Moving forward, the team will progressively enhance your BI tool:
- Adding new data source to the lake,
- Improving legacy reports,
- Developing new reports based on business priorities.
Furthermore, the Business Analysis Steering Committee will be reactivated to structure demand prioritisation and ensure timely support to the organisation over new strategical reports.
