Understanding how important it is to communicate vital information to everyone at Colart, we published two articles relating to the circumstances surrounding the situation in Ukraine.
Colart Supports Ukraine, published on 1st March, discusses the suspension of our business with Russia, including the manufacture of the Winsor & Newton Series 7 brush made from the Kolinsky Sable hair sourced in Russia.
The second article published on 18th March, Get Involved. Colart Supports Save the Children, discusses our ongoing support through a Save the Children fundraising campaign and donating art materials directly to a humanitarian agency based in Poland.
Our actions underpin the principles that the Colart family holds true, and I appreciate the direct feedback from some of you showing your support for these initiatives.
Many of you have asked if we plan to publicise our actions. As a company, we have chosen not to. And why? As Colart Ambassadors, our role is inspiring every artist in the world. Positioning ourselves this way, ensures we always remain humble and true.
However, we appreciate that this should not stop you as individuals from sharing information amongst your network or as teams to publish information on public domains such as social media or trade newsletters.
If you do, we ask that you please consider the following:
- We believe in the principle of People First and acting with compassion.
- We do not support stigmatising or excluding individuals based on their country of origin, allowing us to remain united rather than cause further divisions.
- We are not being political in our actions. Instead, we are committed to the value of communication and connectivity whilst creating an environment based on respect and collaboration.
- We believe in being role models remaining humble, true, and approachable.
Importantly, I recognise that this is an emotionally draining time for many in the company. Remember, available to everyone in the Colart family, we offer through the Employee Assistance Program, a safe, unjudgmental space for you to talk. Or speak to your manager, a colleague or anyone in HR, the GLT or ELT.
