What is IWD Portraits?
IWD Portraits is an exciting global initiative that gives women creatives the chance to showcase their portraits of remarkable women—those who have inspired their lives and work. Whether it’s a historical icon, a mentor, or a fellow artist, the project invites creatives to capture the essence of these women through their art and share their stories with the world.
By using the hashtags #IWD2025, #AccelerateAction, and #IWDportaits, artists can share their creations across social media platforms and gain exposure. Even better? A selection of submissions will be featured on the official IWD website under the Women Creatives Mission section, giving artists the visibility they deserve.

How Can You Get Involved?

Share Your Creation: Post your portrait on your social media accounts with the four hashtags #IWD2025, #AccelerateAction, #IWDportaits, and #Colart. Get the word out and invite others to see the incredible women you’ve chosen to honor.

Submit Your Portrait for Publication: Want your work to be featured on the IWD website? Submit a high-resolution image of your portrait along with details about the subject—why this woman is remarkable. You can also include an artist profile and any relevant links to your work, social media, or website. Please include a short statement confirming ownership of the creation, that there is no breach of copyright, and granting permission for your image to be published permanently on the IWD website and its associated social media feeds.
