COVID-19 GROUP UPDATE

June 26, 2020 | |

Dear all,

At the end of every update, we have repeated the key message about the importance of following safety protocols for the protection of everyone in Colart and those outside Colart that we are linked to.  For the purposes of this update we are going to start with this theme and focus on it alone.

Why? …well, whist we are seeing confidence returning across many countries with restaurants, shops and hotels opening their doors, we know the COVID has not gone away and its undoubted “relatives” will be a feature of our lives for the future.

A while ago we updated you about two people in the US business hit by the virus who we are pleased to say are now fully fit – these cases have been followed by a commercial colleague in Sweden testing positive who is also thankfully well on the road to recovery and more recently, a colleague working in the Le Mans factory also testing positive.  As a result of the last case, we have fully isolated the line, quarantined 14 people at home and fully cleaned the area.

This recent incident together with a new US record set yesterday for the number of cases and news about neighbourhood lockdowns in Berlin and Beijing as a result of spikes in numbers shows that COVID has no intention of going away.  The safety of our people must, therefore, continue to be at the top of our priority list.  But we cannot do it alone and we need your help: –

Keep up to date with the protocols in place in your business.  These standing practices have been developed through collaboration across Colart based on experience proven to be effective in minimising risk.  If you are unsure about the protocols, please ask your line manager.

Hygiene is the essential way to shield ourselves from infection.  Regularly washing your hands throughout the day has shown to be the most effective form of protection. There are other simple rules for you to follow and as a reminder, visit this [link] to refresh your awareness.

Discipline and continued commitment of everyone in Colart to follow these safety protocols will ensure Colart can continue to be a safe place to work as we seek to avoid the spread of COVID in our business.

Whilst the following quote is not meant to have any religious intent, I really liked its sentiment:

“The lockdown has reduced pollution and revealed once more the beauty of so many places free from traffic and noise. Now, with the resumption of activities, we should all be more responsible for looking after our common home.” – Pope Francis

The sense of responsibility and common home with the resumption of activities resonates with our underlying message for every one of us to keep hygiene discipline and follow the guidance communicated in each business unit…our common homes.

In this way, we can maintain confidence that the Colart Family will be able to successfully navigate the new normal and sustain success in what will continue to be uncertain and challenging times.

STAY SAFE, and if you have any questions on this update or any other subject you have a number of routes to take:

1. Your line manager

2. Your local HRBP

3. The Q&A platform on the intranet

Regards,

Jane Beeston
