Embracing the Journey to Net Zero: Colart’s Revamped Travel Policy

July 18, 2023 | |

We are pleased to announce our revamped Travel Policy that includes the introduction of a Travel Impact Assessment Workflow, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to sustainability and our ambition to reach 2025 and 2030 goals, as outlined in our Sustainability Manifesto.

The workflow will enable us to capture and measure the environmental impact of our business travel, supporting our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Why are we introducing the Travel Impact Assessment Workflow?

Through our B Corp,™ certification we have joined a community that pledges to use business as a force for good.  Our certification is assessed through five key impact areas, one of which is our environmental impact.  We recognise the importance that business travel has when addressing the environmental impact of our operations.  Air travel, in particular, is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.

By implementing the Travel Impact Assessment Workflow we aim to:

Understand Our Emissions

The tool will help us accurately measure the carbon emissions associated with our business travel. This data will provide valuable insights into our environmental footprint and guide our efforts to reduce it effectively.

Promote Conscious Travel Choices

Tracking our travel emissions encourages us to make more informed choices when planning business trips. It enables us to consider alternative options, such as video conferences or train travel, which can significantly reduce our carbon impact.

Set Meaningful Goals

By monitoring our travel emissions, we can establish realistic and measurable sustainability goals. This tool will allow us to track progress over time and identify areas for improvement.

Support Sustainable Decision-Making

The collected data will provide the necessary information to make informed decisions regarding travel-related policies, supplier choices, and sustainability initiatives. It empowers us to align our actions with our commitment to environmental responsibility.

We need you to "Get Involved"

To ensure we obtain our sustainability targets and maintain our B Corp certification we need you to Get Involved.
Complete the Travel Impact Assessment Workflow every time you travel for business.
If we Get Involved then collectively we contribute to reducing our environmental impact and a more sustainable future.
