Gareth Meredith leaves Colart after 7 years
It is with a mix of gratitude and sadness that I announce the departure of Gareth Meredith, who will be leaving Colart on 25th September. Gareth joined us seven years ago, initially as a project contractor to support our business transformation. Throughout Gareth’s time with us, he has held roles in talent acquisition , event and exhibition management at Elephant Space and most recently Global Communications. Gareth has consistently embodied the core values of Colart and has been an outstanding ambassador both within the company and externally
Gareth has been an integral part of our team, always showing dedication, creativity, and professionalism. His journey with us has been marked by numerous achievements. The key one’s include;
- Centralising the talent acquisition function in Splash, which led to us being able to directly source over 80% of new hires and significantly reduce recruitment agency costs.
- Developing a new exhibition model at Elephant Space with a fully booked 2020 schedule, which unfortunately could not be realised due to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
- Evolving our communications strategy over the past three years, with the redesign of our intranet, enhancement of town hall meetings, and contributions to key projects such the design if this years Impact Report, contributions to Colart Manifesto, and cascading of our strategic business plan, Perform 2030
After careful consideration of his recent personal circumstances and a thoughtful reflection on his future aspirations, Gareth has decided that it is the right time to discover new life goals and aspirations. In his own words, Gareth says:
“I am truly grateful for the opportunities I've had during my time here and for the support and guidance from so many colleagues at Colart. Over the past seven years, I’ve held three roles, which essentially represent three career changes. I honestly don’t believe these opportunities happen in every business. This is a testament to the lateral growth potential at Colart, which happens through curiosity and a willingness to grow beyond your current role.
Sadly, my beautiful mother passed away in June. I was blessed to have such a close and loving relationship with her, and her loss has left a significant void. My life will not be what it was before, and after deep reflection, I have made the very difficult decision to leave Colart, allowing that void to mark the beginning of my new future.
Since Romain’s arrival at Colart, I have been fortunate to work alongside him on a number of strategic projects. I can confidently say that you have a brilliant leader at the helm, someone who understands both the challenges and opportunities ahead. You should all embrace that. My thanks go to Romain for his openness, to Jane for allowing me the freedom to grow within my roles, and to Toby for being the creative inspiration and challenger during my time at Elephant. People have come, people have gone, some have returned, and others have spent their entire careers at Colart. The true gift Colart gives us is its people."
Our thanks go to you Gareth, for your valuable contributions to Colart over the years. Your legacy will undoubtedly endure, and you will always be a part of the Colart family.
Please join me in wishing Gareth every success and happiness for the future. Whilst we will all miss his energy and presence, we know our connections will remain strong.

Incredibly sad news to hear we’re losing you Gareth. I wish you every good thing. The hub is a changed place without you.
Sorry to see Gareth go but wishing him all the best going forward
There are plenty of people who come and go, but few who have left the void you have in the London Hub. I would not be at Colart myself if it was not for the initial conversation we had with your HR/ talent acqusition hat on and was proud to have played my small part in planting the Elephant seed. This news comes given the sad circumstances, but you leave a wonderful legacy here and I hope this will mark a new chapter whereever it takes you.
Will miss you Gareth 😢
Gareth, we have shared many chats together and laughs through the years. I’m so sorry to hear your sad news and also that you will be departing Colart. The office will not the same without your enthusiastic humor and boisterous charms. I’m sure whatever you decide to do in the future it will be as wonderful as the time you have spent at Colart.
