MENTORING PROGRAMME UPDATE

At Colart we really believe in the importance of helping people develop themselves personally and professionally.

One key learning opportunity that we see as a foundation of supported learning is Mentoring.  For this reason, in 2017 Colart rolled out a structured mentoring scheme across the group and I’m really pleased to say that it is still going strong with new mentors joining all the time.

Why is Mentoring so important?

We believe Mentoring accelerates and enriches both business development and individual learning for both the Mentor and Mentee. But, above all it reinforces our performance culture and builds effective internal networks as well as developing collaborative relationships – something that we know is important to our people as continually highlighted in our employee engagement survey results.

Who is NEW on the Mentoring platform?

Our Mentor page on the Intranet shows all the trained mentors and I’m pleased to say that we have four new mentors:-

Kim Stylides – Liquitex Brand Director

Cris Cosgrave – Group Regulatory Affairs Director

Patricia Le Mauff – Europe Finance Director

Marine Hammer – Group Supply Chain Project Manager

How many mentors do we have?

In total we have the following number of Mentors available across the Group:

  • 8 in the UK
  • 7 in France
  • 8 in the US
  • 2 in China
  • 1 in Netherlands

Self-directed learning – Anytime, Any Place, Any Pace…!

As we talked about in the Townhall this week, the performance development review is a perfect opportunity to reflect on your learning needs with your line manager.  Then together you can identify the best route to fulfilling this learning taking advantage of the excellent mentors that we have available across the business.  We have so much knowledge and expertise in Colart that whilst we want people to take accountability for directing their learning, the learning does not have to take place alone.
