What is Sing for Hope again?
Since the beginning of 2019, Liquitex has partnered with Sing for Hope, a global not-for-profit organization that harnesses the power of the arts to create a better world. The “Sing for Hope Pianos” programme is a collaboration of art and music where beautiful artist-created pianos are placed in public spaces, for anyone and everyone to play, prior to being donated to under-resourced schools, hospitals and community centres around the world.
Event in London coming up!
We are delighted to introduce the Sing for Hope piano program to London at Elephant West, where the innovative and award-winning artist Stuart Semple has generously donated his time to design and paint the piece. The piano will then be given a permanent home with Hospital Rooms.
Check out the photos below to see the piano coming to life at the venue:
So, if you are in London on 13th November…
Please join us to celebrate at our exclusive launch party from 6.30 – 9.00pm at Elephant West. Meet Stuart Semple and enjoy a live performance at the piano by musician Joe Webb, with a special appearance by Bluebird House staff band, Richard and the Rip-Proofs. There will also be a raffle of Liquitex artist materials and a limited-edition print donated by artist Susie Hamilton.
This is a fantastic event that brings together so many generous artists and worthy causes, and we would be absolutely thrilled if you could join us to celebrate on the 13th November.
And if you’re not…
We’ll share lots of pictures on the Intranet!
What will happen to the piano afterwards?
The Stuart Semple designed piano will reside at Elephant West through December for the public to play and sing along with. After the New Year, the piano will be donated to Hospital Rooms and placed permanently in an adolescent mental health NHS ward for all to enjoy. The young adults are very much looking forward to having access to a piano as part of their music therapy and starting a band – the Bluebird House band.
