Strategic Leadership Announcement: Gregory Malet Appointed Group Procurement Director
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Malet as Group Procurement Director, effective 15th January 2024.
The decision to consolidate the Group Procurement Function under a single director was communicated last November during the launch of our strategic business plan, Perform 2030. The role of Group Procurement Director aligns with the objectives of Perform 2030, and aims to position procurement as a crucial lever across the five defined strategic pillars (see image below).
Gregory previously held responsibility for the group's indirect and finished goods procurement, along with overseeing the industrial performance improvement program.
In recent years, Gregory has successfully developed the freight and finished goods procurement aspects, gradually expanding the team. The achieved results include the enhancement of purchasing conditions from our suppliers, yielding an unprecedented purchasing variance in 2023. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in developing new commercial offers, specifically with canvas, by collaborating with sales directors.
Simultaneously, Gregory led the "perform" programme at Le Mans, providing support to the Le Mans team on various projects that resulted in developing his industrial understanding. These initiatives included the automation of logistics (AGV/ROTEG), continuous improvement enhancement (with Proaction), and operational efficiency through the implementation of the Kostango solution.
Gregory's initial project will center on actively engaging with the direct purchasing teams and their stakeholders. His primary objective is to conduct a comprehensive review of processes, identify issues and challenges, and propose innovative approaches to enhance efficiency. The overarching goal is to facilitate a seamless transition for all parties involved, particularly in light of the recently announced departure of Carole Castendet.
I am certain that you will join me in congratulating him on his new role and wishing him every success in his continued development.
