Issue 39 of Elephant Magazine, that came out earlier in June, features an article about Nazif Lopulissa.

A Great Colart Collaboration
Nazif Lopulissa was one of Robert Rost’s students when Robert, our TFAC Manager Benelux, was teaching at the Willem de Kooning Academy. Later on, Nazif attended TFAC clinics and we supported him on some TFAC projects. The Fine Art Collective also supported him – thanks to our partnership with Kunsthal – on the Kunsthal Light project, which enable young emerging artists to shine and exhibit.
Nazif’s career is a great example of how TFAC is spotting and scouting young talents at an early stage: Robert had noticed Nazif’s interesting work and followed his development and was able to offer Nazif TFAC support, which empowered the artist. Later on, Nazif’s work was noticed by external parties, rewarding his talent with art prizes and exhibition participations such as Kunsthal.
The article in the latest Elephant magazine mentions both The Fine Art Collective and Winsor & Newton, making it a great example of cross-collaboration and engagement within Colart. It also shows that the work of TFAC with universities and institutes across the world doesn’t go unnoticed, it enhances our credibility in the Art world.
What is the article about?
The article is entitled “Nazif Lopulissa Finds Moments of Art in City Playgrounds” and was written by our own Emily Steer, who is based at Head Office. It mentions the artist’s relationship between reality and fantasy in his work, children playgrounds – on which his latest series is based – and the tussle that exists between freedom, safety and control.
