Town Hall Meeting for Friday 21st July 2023
In the wake of their extensive visits to key customers across Europe, the UK, and North America, Romain and Gail sat down for a candid conversation to discuss the valuable experiences and insights they gained during their time abroad.
At Cass Art, they delved into the intricacies of Mark Cass's personal brand and the essence of a Cass Art store and how both CEO's share the same passions and concerns. In France, we discover a 25 year partnership with Cultura along with a future-focused alignment to create sustainable value.
Their journey continued across the pond to North America, where they visited Blick and Michaels. We discover the nuances between these two businesses - fine arts versus hobbyist, brands driving sales versus in-store technical expertise influencing purchases, and the contrast between mature digital and omnichannel services versus digital transformation.

Romain also provided important updates from the business during the Town Hall meeting:
- Finance Results YTD or P6: sales up by 2.5%, slightly below budget still. Margin solid. Expenses under control
- Quarterly Business Review or QBR: mid year performance of factories and business units and budget review for second half of 2023
- Factories: reviewing competitveness capabilities for manufacture in 2024
- Defined strategicv proirities: business plan developed and shared with board and GLT, ELT. ELT worshops scheduled for early September in Le Mans to finalise. Business Plan cascade planned for Q4, 2023
- Mid Year Reviews: A reminder to schedule and complete mid year reviews with your line manager.
There will be no Town Hall Meetings held during August, due to the summer break. The next formal town hall meeting will be held on Friday 8th September.
