Town Hall Meeting. Friday 22nd April
On Friday 22nd April, we held our scheduled town hall meeting (THM) hosted by CEO Dennis van Schie. Our guests this week included a mix of Think Thank idea creators and members of the Think Tank Committee. Together they bought to life the purpose of this innovation hub. Guests discussed some of the ideas that they had submitted, including;
- Benjamin Verheijden's suggestion to use human hairbrushes. View his suggestion here.
- Harsa Beagley's suggestion for a sustainable branded tote bag. View her suggestion here.
Also, Jan Lennon and Rachael Reynolds presented Jane Beeston's idea and introduced the newly launched web page "Colart's Got Talent". View the web page here and view Jane's idea here. They also spoke about their own stories they have submitted on Colart's Got Talent. Read Rachael's story here and Jan's story here.
Moments of Inspiration
With Earth Day falling on the same day as the THM, Dennis's inspiration stemmed from our brand's newsletters. If you do not subscribe to our brand's newsletters, then click on the links below to start following them;
Inspiration from Dennis doesn't happen without a book recommendation, and this time he introduced Gideon's Spies by Gordon Thomas. Check out a review of this book here.
Business Updates
We highly recommend watching the video if you missed the live session, as it's worth getting direct updates from Dennis. In this session, he spoke about:
- The lockdown in Shanghai and reports from Hunter in Tianjin that as few as 60% of people could make it into the work due to Covid infections.
- Dennis predicts that the war in Ukraine will last some time, which will impact food, petrol and supply chains resulting in increased prices and inequalities. "Those that have less will suffer more".
- Dennis and Paul Schrotti's visit to DC4 in Piscataway and their attendance at NAMTA in Orlando.
- Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and FC1 are complete with the following comments:
- Governance reviews have been rescheduled to a "light touch" monthly review and an in-depth quarterly review.
- Our financials are "okay" with some risks; however, these plans will be mitigated with a GLT planning session this week.
