The What

A large screen at the Hub showing live reporting as the consumer websites make sales.

The Why

Many of us will be engaged with a long-term and cross-team focus to increase sales on our B2C websites. I think a large screen at the hub that shows orders coming in would help motivation and so help us keep up the momentum. Perhaps a 'ping' when we reach a daily target!

The How

I'd say a quick chat with Toby will set us in the right direction.

Comments

  1. Reminds me of when we had a live dashboard from Nosto (our old eCommerce personalisation platform) on the screen in the old office for everyone to see.

It was fascinating to see customer page visits, orders and searches in real-time. Was a good talking point and sparked many interesting conversations and ideas. Can help reinforce a true consumer-first mindset.

  2. I’d love to see this in place. If we’re focussing on B2C sales with a target for 2023, and we’re making major changes to drive that, then we should have metrics available company-wide. These can show where we’re getting it right and where we aren’t. It promotes transparency and accountability and should help us make better decisions.

There should be a discussion on what metrics are displayed. Do we want to track new consumers or repeat consumers, and do we want to measure those against campaigns and new feature releases?

  3. During the hub review in May, I remember one of the ideas was to put the TV screen in the London hub, and Jane mentioned in the summary email that it was something they were planning to go ahead with:

“We are planning to install a screen above the doorway to allow scrolling picture loops, films and other items to inspire.”

I think once this is done, all the teams can be consulted on what to display on the screen, and one of them being real time sales data would be a great idea, and would surely inspire and motivate the teams who are involved in the D2C sales process.

  4. This is a big thumbs up from me as really great to show everyone how the business is performing in numbers. As Jules mentioned we have a TV going into the hub and there are already screen in other areas of the business.
