The What
Pie in the Sky idea:
Develop a Colart “create” digital portal where consumers can test drive actual brand tools, colors, etc. on a virtual canvas.
They can pick any brand’s range of colors, brushes, papers (ex. W&N PWC, using a synth brush, on cold press paper).
The tools can be switched on the fly so they can be drawing with a ProMarker and then click through to a Fineliner to refine.
All the color swatches for a range would be available (and can be exported for a customer to use in other digital apps like Adobe Illustrator) .
Basically this is a virtual “test drive” before you buy – perhaps with a button available that launches you straight to Amazon or a brand site purchase page.
I know we want to hopefully regain traction in-store, but this would be a robust digital tool that can span brands and channels.
Mind you, it would require a hefty development spend to recruit programmers, UI devs, and the like.
Just a floaty thought I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit.
Thanks.

The Why
A good opportunity to introduce new consumers to a wide range of product offerings through a virtual platform. For someone who is an established creator, it is a chance for them to “unlock” products they man not have used before. Potential is to “try before buying” any of the myriad of products we offer. Also a good platform to tie in with NPD launches and retailer exclusive items.
The How
As stated in the outline, it would require an investment in a dev team: programmers, UI designers, etc. to create the virtual workspace, and to manage the back end DB for pulling in product images.
