The What
Snazaroo already has a good reputation with cosplayers who frequently share their projects on social media, but we could be capitalising on it even further by attending conventions and other events where there will be a high population of interested attendees. Colart could book a table at an upcoming convention such as MCM London (which is known to see up to 100,000 attendees) or Birmingham in order to showcase their products, make some sales on the day and potentially offer a leaflet or code to track any users who buy as a direct result of seeing the items at the convention. There would be a cost to book a table (and potential cost of some items to act as testers/samples) but this could act as a good judgement of whether future investment would be good value.
The Why
Cosplay is an extremely lucrative market that Snazaroo already receives a great amount of feedback from on social media – going to an event with a guarenteed market of cosplayers will allow us to target them directly in a way that might make them open to trying out our products.
The How
- Book a table at a future convention
- Arrange a number of items (brushpens, SFX kits, colour pots)
- (Optional) Print information on items such as the custom colour palette which are online exclusive, and even offer a discount code (eg, free shipping or 5% off) which might allow us to track any increase in sales as a direct result of the event.

I thoroughly agree with this idea, cosplayers really struggle to find good overall body makeup that stays on vs washes off. Snaz really should be aiming some products at young/not so young adults from the festival/cosplay area! (Average basic pitch price at comiccon London £225 ) With covid and lockdown driving over 33% increase in Dungeons and Dragons sales 2020, Critical role actual play D&D kickstarter being the quickest fasted in history eventually raising 11.3M for an animated series which aired this year by amazon and has quickly been picked up for a second season, playing RPG (role playing games) online has come out of the geeky dark corner and into mainstream leading and leading to an increase in cosplaying now the conventions are back up and running (and this doesn’t take into account anime which is huge by itself). PS. Rachael and I would happily man the stall! Happy to chat more about this
how cool to see you both so involved and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to see where this idea will lead and thank you for raising it in the Think Tank Rachael!
