CTAM Think Tank Update for 2021

January 14, 2022 | | | 5 comments

Most of you are familiar with the global Think Tank committee and the submission of the ideas through the intranet.  There's also proactive groups of people submitting ideas locally, at manufacturing sites such as Le Mans and Tianjin.

We're delighted to introduce an update from CTAM demonstrating the commitment for continuous improvement, innovation and "thinking outside the box". Here's their story ...

Since upgrading the Think Tank project at the beginning of 2021, the total number of proposals in 2021 was 84, which was 2.5 times that of the previous year. Over 100 colleagues participated in implementing the suggestions, which is evidence that employees, no matter what their position, care about the company by contributing to improving the overall operation.

CTAM is very proud to confirm that they are currently implementing 14 ideas, have completed 32 ideas and will implement another seven good ideas when conditions are available.

Top 3 departments for ideas contribution
Top 3 topics of proposals

      🥇

质量&研发 Quality department – 27 ideas 优化包装形式提高效率,节约成本
Optimize packaging form for improving efficiency and saving cost – 11 ideas

      🥈

生产 Production department – 14 ideas 有效利用报废库存,挽回损失
Effective reuse of scrap inventory to recover losses – 6 ideas

      🥉

工程设施 Facility Engineering department – 13 ideas 优化设备设施,提高安全水平,提高效率, 提高准确度
Optimize equipment or facilities for improving safety level, efficiency and accuracy – 6 ideas
Improvement proposals from workshop employees

Example: Mr Chang Wuqiang, a storekeeper, recently found that the layout of warehouse locations was unreasonable in his daily work and put forward a proposal accordingly. After implementation, the number of warehouse locations increased, and the spacing became more reasonable, which was convenient for the passage of local cattle and reduced labour intensity and safety risks.

Example: Mr Zhang Dong, operator of Winsor & Newton marker pens,  proposed to adjust the position of the reset button on the equipment, to conveniently press the button standing up rather than bending down, and also able to quickly stop the machine in the event of an emergency.
